Abstract :

The aim of this article is to publish the fragment Cairo JE 40044, discovered by J.E. Quibell at Saqqara in 1908. It constitutes the lower part of a genealogical stela, since the text begins with jm3ḫ(w) ḫr Ḥp-Wsjr followed by the titulary of its owner Ankhun[nefer] and by that of four other men, most probably his ascendants. The importance of this monument, which dates back to the end of the XXVIth Dynasty or to the XXVIIth, lies mainly in the presence of the cartouche of Teti. This one used to follow the title ḥm-ntr – nowadays lacunar –, thus constituting one of the rare occurrences of a prophet of an Old Kingdom king on a Serapeum stela. This fragment is the only testimony of the posthumous veneration of Teti at Saqqara which is later than the New Kingdom and which, moreover, most probably contains the most recent mention of this VIth Dynasty pharaoh.
