Nous pensons que ce nome s’étendait au sud du Mendésien. Sa création, due probablement à Hadrien, dans le deuxième quart du IIème siècle, fut éphémère mais sa redécouverte permet d’affiner la carte administrative du Delta oriental gréco-romain. Some numismatic and papyrological documents of Roman time can be added to Herodotus’ statement concerning the existence of a «Thmouite nome». We think that this nome extended in the south of the Mendesian. Its creation, owed probably to Hadrian, in the second quarter of the IInd Century, was short-lived but its rediscovery allows to refine the administrative map of the Greco-Roman oriental Delta. |
