Gal 2,10). This collection was an act of charity that was at the same time an act of mutual acceptance between a community living according to the Torah (Jerusalem) and another community (Antioch) living outside of these rules. Paul applied this agreement to the communities he founded in Achaia, Macedonia, and Asia Minor. The paper deals with the preparation of the collection in these communities and the journey of the delegation travelling to Jerusalem to deliver the money. The report of this journey (used in Acts 20-21) is a unique document in early Christian history. Finally the problems connected with the delivery of the collection Jerusalem are discussed. |
