Abstract :
The problem of the date in 2 Bar 1,1, for which scholars have suggested various solutions, most probably arose from a confusion of King Jehoiakim, who came to power at the age of 25, with King Jehoiachin, who reigned only for three months in Jerusalem before being deported to Babylonia, i.e. in his accession year. There are some partial analogies to the problem in other Jewish works of the Hellenistic period.
