Le consensus établi dans l’ouvrage collectif dirigé par James D.G. Dunn, publié en 1992, est en train de voler en éclat sous les coups de boutoir des ouvrages collectifs dirigés par Adam H. Becker et Annette Y. Reed, publié en 2003, et par Ian H. Henderson et Gerbern S. Oegema, publié en 2006. The Parting of the Ways est en train de devenir The Ways That Never Parted… This article seeks to present some new views on the origins of Christianity – taking this expression in a broad sense, to include the first three centuries. The rapid appearance of books and articles and the changing paradigms, even parameters, of the subject mean that scholars may find it difficult to follow what is going on. To that add the growing number of periodicals, series and other means of publication, often available only on-line. The consensus established in The Parting of the Ways edited by James D.G. Dunn in 1992 is taking a battering from the multi-authored studies edited by Adam H. Becker and Annette Y. Reed in 2003, and by Ian H. Henderson and Gerbern S. Oegema in 2006. The Parting of the Ways is in the process of becoming The Ways That Never Parted. |
