Document Details : Title: Les Discours Ascétiques d'Isaac de Ninive Subtitle: Étude de la tradition géorgienne et de ses rapports avec les autres versions Author(s): PATARIDZE, Tamara Journal: Le Muséon Volume: 124 Issue: 1-2 Date: 2011 Pages: 27-58 DOI: 10.2143/MUS.124.1.2118189 Abstract : The study concerns the three different Georgian translations of Isaac Nineveh’s homilies made in the 10th century, precisely in Sinai Geo. 35, Sinai Geo. 36 and Euthymius Hagiorit’s translation. The article proposes a linguistic analysis of the oldest translation which comes from the Mar Sabas Monastery and its comparative study with the Greek and Arabic versions issued from the same monastery. It suggests that the Georgian translation comes from the Syriac original. Euthyme’s translation, on the other hand, depends on the Greek recensio brevior’s collection. |
