This narrative is interspersed by a seemingly interminable variety of microstories. In the novel’s epilogue, a list of sources sheds a light on the partly online origins of the disorienting swarm of information. This article examines how the self-conscious presentation of (dis)information of Op de rok van het universum reflects the transformations of knowledge in the internet era. By drawing attention to the formal inclusion of online as well as offline sourced materials, the novel’s challenging scope and databaselike composition, the article will assess the epistemological challenges the novel is set to navigate in a digitalised world. |
