Damit schufen sie eine europäische Plattform jüdischer Frauen, die sich mit dem Status der Frauen in den jüdischen Gemeinschaften, aber auch in der allgemeinen Umwelt befasst. Mit Konferenzen und Vorträgen lotet Bet Debora Möglichkeiten aus, die Position jüdischer Frauen zu stärken und ihr Wirken in Gegenwart und Vergangenheit sichtbarer zu machen. Ein wichtiges Prinzip von Bet Debora ist die Offenheit. An den Konferenzen nehmen Rabbinerinnen, Kantorinnen, Akademikerinnen, Aktivistinnen, Künstlerinnen sowie interessierte Frauen und Männer teil. Wichtig war uns ist der Austausch zwischen jüdischen Frauen aus Ost- und Westeuropa und ihre jeweils unterschiedlichen Auffassungen und Formen jüdischer Erneuerung. Das gemeinsame Lernen sowie das voreinander Lernen stehen hier im Mittelpunkt. Natürlich wendet sich Bet Debora auch an jüdische Frauen in Israel und Nordamerika und steht auch Menschen mit anderen Glaubensbekenntnissen offen. Der Aufsatz beschreibt die Entwicklung von Bet Debora und die wichtigsten Themenkreise, die im Lauf der Jahre behandelt wurden. Dazu gehörten die sukzessive Akzeptanz von Rabbinerinnen und Kantorinnen in jüdischen Gemeinden, der Einfluss von Frauen auf Gemeindepolitik, der Umgang mit unterschiedlichen Formen von Familien innerhalb der jüdischen Gemeinschaft, jüdische Erziehung für Frauen und Mädchen, der Status der LGBT-Bewegung in den jüdischen Gemeinden, der Einfluss historischer Ereignisse und Entwicklungen auf die Gegenwart u.v.m. Motivated by the enormous change that the Jewish world experienced by the fall of the communist regimes, especially in Europe, three women in Berlin founded Bet Debora (House of study of Debora) in 1998. Thereby they created a European platform of Jewish women, which deals with the status of women in the Jewish communities as well as their general environment. Through conferences and lectures Bet Debora fathoms the possibilities to strengthen Jewish women and make their present and past activities more visible. An important principle of Bet Debora is its openness. The conferences are attended by female rabbis, cantors, academics, activists, artists as well as interested women and men. An important issue is the exchange between Jewish women from Eastern and Western Europe and their different conceptions and forms of Jewish renewal. The focus is on learning together and learning from each other. Of course, Bet Debora also addresses Jewish women in Israel and North America and is open to people from other faiths. This article describes the development of Bet Debora and the most important topics dealt with during the past years. This includes the gradual acceptance of female rabbis and cantors in Jewish communities, women’s influence on the politics of the communities, the handling of different forms of families within the Jewish community, Jewish education of women and girls, the status of the LGBT-movement in the Jewish communities, the influence of historical events and developments on the present situation etc. Motivado por el enorme cambio que el mundo judío experimentó con la caída de los regímenes comunistas, especialmente en Europa, tres mujeres fundaron Bet Debora en Berlin (Casa de Estudio de Débora) en 1998. Crearon, así, una plafatorma europea de mujeres judías que aborda el estatus de las mujeres en las comunidades judías así como su ambiente. A través de conferencias y charlas, Bet Debora imagina las posibilidades de reforzar a las mujeres judías y hacer sus actividades presentes y pasadas más visibles. Un importante principio de Bet Débora es su apertura. A las conferencias asisten rabinas, cantoras, académicas, activistas, artistas así como mujeres y hombres interesados. Un tema importante es el intercambio entre mujeres judías de la Europa oriental y occidental y sus diferentes concepciones y formas de renovación judía. Se pone el acento en aprender juntas y aprender de cada una. Bet Débora también se dirige a mujeres judías en Israel y Norteamérica y está abierta a personas de otras fes. Este artículo describe el desarrollo de Bet Débora y los temas más importantes que ha tratado durante los últimos años. Esto implica la aceptación gradual de rabinas y cantoras en las comunidades judías, la influencia de las mujeres en la política de las comunidades, el manejo de distintas formas de familias dentro de la comunidad judía, la educación judía de mujeres y niñas, el estatus del movimiento LGBT en las comunidades judías, la influencia de los eventos históricos y desarrollos de la situación presente, etc. |
