Document Details : Title: Wissenschaftsphilosophisch relevante Impulse aus der Theologie Subtitle: Zu den Debatten über das Konzept wissenschaftlicher Erkenntnisgewissheit im Zeitraum 1230-1350 Author(s): KÖHLER, Theodor W. Journal: Recherches de Théologie et Philosophie Médiévales Volume: 86 Issue: 1 Date: 2019 Pages: 125-208 DOI: 10.2143/RTPM.86.1.3285915 Abstract : The present essay studies the conceptual and terminological influence that theological discussions concerning the act of (religious) belief and the scientific character of theology exerted on philosophical (epistemological) debates about certainty, particularly the certainty of scientific knowledge, during the second half of the thirteenth and the first half of the fourteenth century. Based on a wide range of texts, its focus is on the process of examining and elaborating more precisely the conception of the subjective structural component (a parte scientis) in the certainty of scientific knowledge and related mental operations. |
