Abstract :

The mastabas of the Old Kingdom belonging to the necropolis «M» of Abu Rawash, excavated by Pierre Montet in 1913-1914, remained hitherto unpublished. Thanks to the photographic archives of Ifao and recent fieldwork, some parts of the decoration of one of these mastabas, tomb M IX, could be identified. They very probably date this structure to the IVth Dynasty. One block showing a working scribe is in Louvre Museum since 1934 (E 14 321) ; others, including the lower part of a niche, remained in Ifao. All were without recorded provenance.
