Abstract :
In the fall of 2002 and spring of 2003 (22 Nov - 9 March), the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Romasponsored an exhibition at Rome’s Museo del Corso entitled La Famiglia nell’Arte: Storia e Immagini nell’Italia del XX Secolo(catalogue published by De Luca Editore d’Arte). The exhibit, and its accompanying catalogue, is a collection of paintings reflecting the evolving depiction of the married couple and the family throughout 20th century Italy. It provides an interesting index to the changing role of the family in this country. The catalogue includes commentary essays by writers such as Claudio Strinati, Alessandra Maria Sette, and Paul Ginsborg.
