Abstract :
This 1993 volume of the BL/LB is the second biggest ever published, being superseded only by the 1992 volume, which contained 23 052 entries. In this volume Mark JANSE and Sijmen TOL, who since several years are performing this annual Herculean undertaking, have brought together 22 050 entries2; an innovation of the bibliographical presentation in this volume is the fact that the format of the entries has been made more conform to the rules of the International Standard Bibliographic Description (ISBD) of the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA). In its present bookform the BL/LB remains, in my view, the most complete reference tool for current information on linguistics. It is to be hoped that the printed edition of the BL/LB will be continued, also when the data will be made available on a CD-ROM.
