Abstract :

Pierre Bourdieu was trained in philosophy and retained a close link with it. His anthropological field research led him to shift the focus of the philosophical heritage which he continued to refer to. This article emphasizes the principle of reason. Emphasizing the turn that Bourdieu gave to the conceptuality of Leibniz, the philosopher to whom he devoted his master’s thesis, it connects with it his analysis of love, viewed as an initiatory rituel, an exchange of reasons for being, as much as the realisation of a social destiny, irreducible to the antinomy between freedom and determinism
