Abstract :
I argue why philosopher Bertrand Russell can be treated as the forerunner of Modern Structural Realism. I show how Russell attempts a structural understanding of the world, in different, non-continuous stages, almost half a century before the term ‘structural realism’ came up in the 70s. The significance of Russell’s attempt consists of adopting a physical approach to a metaphysical issue.
