Document Details : Title: La dialectique de la Bhagavadgītā Author(s): GEROW, Edwin Journal: Journal Asiatique Volume: 295 Issue: 1 Date: 2007 Pages: 133-154 DOI: 10.2143/JA.295.1.2024690 Abstract : On essaie ici une analyse de la pensée de la Bhagavadgītā, vue de l'intérieur, pour ainsi dire, telle qu'elle s'est présentée à ses dévots depuis des siècles, lecteurs attentifs qui, pour la plupart, l'ont considérée comme une oeuvre cohérente, exposant une doctrine uniforme — contrairement à la grande majorité des savants occidentaux, qui n'y ont vu qu'un mélange hétérogène de pensées mal digérées. Or le poème lui-même donne des indices d'une organisation méditée, qui font percevoir, sous le flot de la dévotion évidente, le fil d'une argumentation soutenue et — si ce n'est pas trop abuser du mot — rationnelle, dont l'articulation rigoureuse (pour autant que l'état actuel du texte et de nos connaissances permette d'en juger) expliquerait en partie, et la stabilité du texte à travers les âges, et son influence durable au sein de l'hindouisme. Presented here is an analysis of the thought of the Bhagavadgītā, as seen from the interior of the poem, so to speak — as the poem has presented itself to generations of the faithful, readers who have considered it for the most part as a coherent work, presenting a uniform doctrine, in contrast to the great majority of Western exegetes, who have seen in it only a mix of poorly digested and heterogeneous points of view. However, the poem itself gives many indices of a well-thought-out organization, which allow us to perceive, beneath the flow of evident devotionalism, the thread of a persistent argument — persistent, and if it is not too abusive a use of the word, rational — whose rigorous articulation, as complete as it is, explains in part both the stability of the text of the Gītā, and the poem's lasting influence at the heart of Hinduism. |
