Title: Notes on the Historical Position of Friulian
Author(s): GOLDBERG, John R.
Volume: 34 Date: 1985-1987
The term Rhaeto-Romance, along with a classification of languages involved, particularly Friulian, has long been a source of confusion. This paper is an attempt to lessen the confusion.

It is now universally accepted among Romance linguists that the term Rhaeto-Romance does not refer to a single language, but rather to a group of languages and dialects.
