Our recent attempt of such a reconstruction on the Proto-Hamito-Semitic level forms a sine qua nonof my analysis suggested below. The lexical material used in my description of the ablaut is excerpted from the new Hamito-Semitic Etymological Dictionary compiled by O. Stolbova and by the writer. Taking into account the aim and the physical size of the present paper, it is understandable that the data are not given in full detail and limited to the level of individual branches of Hamito-Semitic. |
