Document Details : Title: The Hitherto Unpublished Columns of the Genesis Apocryphon Author(s): MORGENSTERN, Matthew , QIMRON, Elisha , SIVAN, Daniel Journal: Ancient Near Eastern Studies Volume: 33 Date: 1995 Pages: 30-54 DOI: 10.2143/ANES.33.0.525749 Abstract : The unfortunate fate of the Genesis Apocryphon has been rehearsed on several occasions. The scroll, one of seven discovered in Cave I at Qumran, was purchased by Yigael Yadin and partially published by both him and N. Avigad in 1956. This edition include dphotographs, transcriptions and translations of five well preserved columns, and provided fragmentary transcriptions of the remains of a few other columns. The authors declared that they intended to publish the remainder of the text following further study, but they seem not to have returned to deal with the scroll. |
