Document Details : Title: The Neo-Aramic Manuscripts of the British Library Author(s): MENGOZZI, A. Journal: Le Muséon Volume: 112 Issue: 3-4 Date: 1999 Pages: 459-494 DOI: 10.2143/MUS.112.3.519485 Abstract : In 1923 the British Museum purchased eight manuscripts from Eduard Sachau (1845-1930), now registered as nos. 9321-9328 of the Oriental and India Office collection. Together with the better-known Berlin Sachau collection, they bear witness to Sachau's interest in Neo-Aramaic and Arabic folk poetry, and they constitute the most important Western source for our knowledge of Neo-Aramaic literature. |
