Document Details : Title: The Indirect Tradition of Gregory of Nazianzen's Texts in the Acts of the Ecumenical Councils Author(s): FRANGESKOU, V. Journal: Le Muséon Volume: 112 Issue: 3-4 Date: 1999 Pages: 381-416 DOI: 10.2143/MUS.112.3.519483 Abstract : What follows aims at showing the variety of uses of Gregory's texts. The edition used for this research is Acta Conciliorum Oecumenicorum (ACO). The volumes of ACO include various collections in Greek and/or Latin and Gregorian quotations in one collection can be found also in another, usually preserved in a different version. So, there is often more than one Greek and/or Latin version of the same Gregorian text. All Greek versions were consulted for their possible textual variations from the Gregorian text, although only one is sufficient to show the degree to which a particular Council made use of Gregorian texts. |
