Document Details : Title: De literaire uitgeverij als boekhandel. Subtitle: Veranderingen in het literaire veld? Author(s): VAN ENGEN, Jeroen Journal: Spiegel der Letteren Volume: 45 Issue: 4 Date: 2003 Pages: 379-390 DOI: 10.2143/SDL.45.4.504223 Abstract : How does the literary field in the Netherlands change under the influence of digitization? Following a brief introduction of the concepts of institution and field, the author discusses the way in which consumers localize literary institutions on the internet. He then gives an overview of the presence on the internet of the literary institutions: authors, journals, publishers and bookshops. Digitization seems to have a major impact on the functioning of the two latter institutions: publishers become booksellers and bookshops have to specialize and to redefine their marketing. |
