Document Details : Title: A Reformulation of Reichenbach's Theory of Tense and Aspect Author(s): WISTRAND, Vincent Journal: Logique et Analyse Volume: 265 Date: 2024-2025 Pages: 35-57 DOI: 10.2143/LEA.265.0.3294706 Abstract : This work aims to present and explain a logical framework – titled SRE*, inspired by model theory, tense logic, and dynamic epistemic logic. This approach is best understood as a logical reformulation of Reichenbach’s theory of tense and aspect (SRE). While Reichenbach’s theory has produced a great deal of support, we believe that it falls short to several criticisms presented against it. As a result, we offer an alternative account that can overcome the major difficulties raised against Reichenbach’s theory. However, SRE* requires that we accept a number of new important propositions. |
