Even though Elichmann was well-respected, details about his life and work are hard to find. This is partly because he died early. Prior biographical sketches have shed some light on Elichmann's life, yet they remain fragmentary. The surfacing of additional primary sources, coupled with modern studies of the early modern republic of letters increasingly referencing Elichmann, allows one to give a more in-depth survey of this scholar’s life, work and significance. |
