Document Details : Title: Bertrand Russell and Modern Structural Realism Author(s): SREEDEVIKUTTYAMMA, Sangeetha Journal: Logique et Analyse Volume: 249 Date: 2020 Pages: 203-219 DOI: 10.2143/LEA.249.0.3288096 Abstract : I argue why philosopher Bertrand Russell can be treated as the forerunner of Modern Structural Realism. I show how Russell attempts a structural understanding of the world, in different, non-continuous stages, almost half a century before the term ‘structural realism’ came up in the 70s. The significance of Russell’s attempt consists of adopting a physical approach to a metaphysical issue. |
