En réalité, dans la constitution linguistique du verbe être, aussi bien historiquement qu’en synchronie actuelle, le repérage cognitif du corps vivant joue un rôle décisif. C’est ce repère cognitif qui est à la base de l’avènement du sens figuré. This paper tries to show how the numerous locative predicates deployed by the French verb être can explain the progressive internal organization of this essential verb. In fact, in the linguistic constitution of the verb être, both historically and in present synchrony, the cognitive identification of the living body plays a decisive role. It is this cognitive landmark that has determined the advent of the figurative meaning. |
