But for what purpose and according to what kind of interpretative strategy? One can presume that Merleau-Ponty’s strategy for entering into a dialogue with Marx and re-reading him from the perspective of his own phenomenological questions is not identical with the strategies used by Heidegger or Henry. It remains that, for each of them, calling upon Marx has always meant more than reading and commenting on Marx. This is due to fundamental reasons that are connected to the very nature of the phenomenological project. This article attempts to shed light on those reasons. |
