Still, a closer look reveals Fromondus’ position vis-à-vis his predecessor Lipsius, the 'Father of Neostoicism', and his specific use and interpretation of Seneca in the contemporary Jansenist debates in which he was involved and in which he took different positions as regards Copernicanism and Cartesianism. |
