Document Details : Title: Sami during the Roman Period Author(s): DELLIS, Athanasios Journal: Pharos Volume: 19 Issue: 1 Date: 2013 Pages: 51-68 DOI: 10.2143/PHA.19.1.3009290 Abstract : In recent years, the responsible Ephorates of Prehistoric and Classical Archaeology have conducted many rescue excavations in the Kefalonian town of Sami. These excavations have shed new light on the history of the town, in particular with regards to the Roman period. Several bath houses, which were lavishly decorated with mosaics, indicate the wealth and importance of the town in Roman times. Private houses and cemeteries were also investigated and provide new information on Roman Sami. |
