Document Details : Title: De nomadische enkeling op het immanente plan Subtitle: Een zoektocht naar Deleuzes en Guattari's 'personnage conceptuel' doorheen een lezing van Kierkegaard Author(s): BRUGNERA, Marieke Journal: Tijdschrift voor Filosofie Volume: 75 Issue: 4 Date: 2013 Pages: 667-696 DOI: 10.2143/TVF.75.4.3007376 Abstract : This article endeavors to obtain a deeper insight into Gilles Deleuze’s and Félix Guattari’s real actor of philosophical thinking, ‘the conceptual persona’, through the pseudonymous work of Søren Kierkegaard. According to Deleuze and Guattari’s constructivist view, the act of philosophizing can only take place on a ‘plane of immanence’ that is formed on the base of the ungraspable chaos, incessantly striving for internal consistency. But, due to his inability to penetrate into immanence, the philosopher is excluded from his own plane. Consequently, in order to develop a proper philosophy, he is forced to lose himself and annihilate his own person in the act of creating the ‘conceptual persona’ that will take part on the plane of thinking. In this dynamic of endless renunciation, which appears in the kenosis of the creator, we can catch a glimpse of the structural framework of the ‘conceptual personae’ in the pseudonymous writings of Kierkegaard. Out of the chaos, a complex wheelwork of characters emerges, in which the ‘personae’ are generated by other ‘personae’, who are in turn created by pseudonyms, invented by the original author. Kierkegaard himself remains shrouded in mystery, subjected to the underlying chaos from which he can never escape. His ‘personae’ keep wandering on their ‘plane of immanence’, being ‘Individuals’ living up to their own truth in internal consistency. Constantly threatened by despair, they fight against the chaos in the exploration of concepts, longing in vain for salvation beyond the leap. |
