Document Details : Title: Les textes d'envoûtement de Mirgissa Author(s): KOENIG, Yvan Journal: Revue d'Égyptologie Volume: 41 Date: 1990 Pages: 101-125 DOI: 10.2143/RE.41.0.2011315 Abstract : In this article the 'execration texts' from the area of the fortress of Mirgissa in Nubia are studied. One ore even more complete versions of the text may be written on an artefact, or just a section of it. These texts are clearly dated: they are similar to those of Berlin studied by K. Sethe. However, they are slightly older, just before the first half of the 12th dynasty. Other uninscribed artefacts were found during the excavations, and in another article the complete discovery will be studied as a whole. Since it is the only find of 'execration texts' in an excavation context, they may provide information about the ritual that was performed. |
