Document Details : Title: Egyptian Military Actions in 'Asia' in the Middle Kingdom Author(s): GOEDICKE, Hans Journal: Revue d'Égyptologie Volume: 42 Date: 1991 Pages: 89-94 DOI: 10.2143/RE.42.0.2011290 Abstract : Almost nothing is known about political contacts between Egypt and the Levant during the Middle Kingdom. In the long text found at Mit Rahineh (RdE 32 (1980), 75ff.), six events are mentioned ranging from commercial to belligerent actions. They appear to date to the reign of Amenemhat II, for whose reign no contacts between Egypt and the Levant had previously been known. Of particular interest is the possibly earliest mention of Tunip as a trading partner. |
