Abstract :
In the past two decades of this century the amount of double audience authors has increased. This increase is explained by pointing to the literary emancipation of childrens' literature in the eighties and nineties. One of the well-known authors in both the childrens' literature system and the adult literature system is Mensje van Keulen. In this article the question if and to what extent contemporary double audience authors influence the relation between childrens' literature and adult literature is answered. For that purpose an analysis is made of the reception of Mensje van Keulen by literary critics. This analysis is prefaced by a general examination of the interest in double audience authors.
