Abstract :
Beginning with a contextual understanding of theology and with existing projects for a theology of the “Second World”, the author investigates the significance of women’s experience for this approach to theology. Past experiences of suffering and of persecution play an important role, as does the particular form taken by the women’s movement during the communist period in the region considered. The author seeks to clarify the differences in the perception of gender difference in the East and West of our continent, and to show the possible points of contact for a dialogue of equality.
