Ce préfixe très commun en khmer moderne apparaît dans des contextes extrêmement variés. Nous avons principalement examiné les combinaisons S. V. O. / S pan- V. O. Au terme de notre examen il apparaît que pan- est un «inverseur de visée» S.<— V. C /S pan- V. ––> C, ou en d'autres termes un «augmentateur de transitivité». Le préfixe pan- présente les caractéristiques d'un opérateur plutôt que celles d'un trait sémantique fixe: son «sens» varie en fonction de la base verbale qu'il affecte ainsi que des contextes dans lesquels il apparaît. Il affecte notamment le mode de procès du verbe (télique/ atélique) et les rapports sémantiques entre le verbe et ses actants. The purpose of this paper is to try to discribe the verbal prefix pan- and it's allomorphs. The prefix pan- is very common in modern khmer and appears in very different contexts. We have taken special consideration of the sentences in which the sequences S. V. O are opposed to S. pan- V. O. After analysing the datas we have reached the conclusion that pan- fonctions as an «intensifier of verbal transitivity». This characteristic, viewed as an «operation» rather than as a static «semantic feature», generates different «meanings» depending on the verbal basis and the various contexts in which it appears. It specially affects the «aktionsart» (characteristics of the proces) of the verb and, on various levels, the connexion that links the verb to it's complements. |
