Document Details : Title: Matthew's Special Material in the Passion Story Subtitle: Implications for the Evangelist's Redactional Technique and Theological Perspective Author(s): SENIOR, D. Journal: Ephemerides Theologicae Lovanienses Volume: 63 Issue: 4 Date: December 1987 Pages: 272-294 DOI: 10.2143/ETL.63.4.556343 Abstract : In the past decade there has been an increasing number of redactional studies on the passion narratives. My own study on Metthew's passion which appeared in 1975 could be included in this trend. In his collection of essays, G. Stanton suggests that general agreement may have been reached in the case of Matthew's passion narrative. But if such a consensus exists, reactions to my own study indicate it is fragile. In fact some of the critical reactions might serve as a springboard for further consideration of issues posed by Matthean Sondergut. |
