Gedurende deze periode (1600-1800) trokken vele Duitsers van tussen Eems en Wezer naar Nederland, omwille van de aantrekkelijke arbeidsmarkt. 'Nicht unbedeutende Wanderungen', Traces of the so-called Hollandgängerei in the 20th-century directory of family names of the three northern provinces Contrary to earlier research, in this article the author studies the meaning for the Dutch surnames starting from an historical event, the Hollandgängerei. During this period (1600-1800) many Germans from the area between Eems and Wezer moved to the Netherlands, because of the attractive job market. |
