After presenting the English version of the Responses and Doctrinal Note, the A. offers some brief comments on its import. He explores the possible reasons for the decision, seeking to determine in particular whether the basis for invalidity is due to a defective intention on the part of the minister or to a defect of form per se. The French version of the text is given in the Appendix. Le 24 juin 2020, la Congrégation pour la Doctrine de la Foi a publié deux réponses et une Note doctrinale sur l’invalidité de l’utilisation d’une formule de baptême non autorisée qui substitue le pluriel «Nous baptisons» au singulier requis «Je baptise». Après avoir présenté la version anglaise des réponses et de la note doctrinale, l’A. propose quelques brefs commentaires sur son importation. Il explore les raisons possibles de la décision, cherchant notamment à déterminer si le fondement de l’invalidité est dû à une intention défectueuse du ministre ou à un défaut de forme en soi.
