Abstract :
In spite of scanty evidence, it appears that the stress in Biblical Aramaic is phonemic. The second מַלְכָּא in Dan 6:8 could be the subject of the preceding infinitive, לְקַיָּמָה, though it does not have to be. The reduplicated plural, רַבְרְבִין and רַבְרְבָן, possibly indicate not only plurality, but also intensity.
