Over the past generation, scholars have begun to produce in-depth studies of the textual witnesses to Rashi’s commentary to a few tractates, aiming principally to pursue its original text and determine the appropriate weight to assign to each textual witness in the preparation of a scientific edition. Our research will be devoted to the study of Rashi’s commentary to tractate Sukka. We shall first present a list and brief descriptions of the textual witnesses of the commentary and then examine their mutual relationships while offering a few examples to illustrate and explain the conclusions we reached. Then we shall seek to demonstrate the scholarly importance of the use of these witnesses. Le commentaire de Rachi, rédigé dans la deuxième moitié du XIe siècle, est le plus important des commentaires réalisés sur le Talmud de Babylone. À ce titre, il a fait l’objet de nombreuses recherches. L’un des domaines essentiels de la recherche sur ce commentaire est celui de sa rédaction. Il s’agit de viser la restitution du texte original et la mise au clair du rôle de chacun de ses témoins manuscrits, comme base préparatoire à une édition scientifique du commentaire. Nous nous concentrerons ici sur le commentaire du traité Sukka. Nous en présenterons et décrirons tous les témoins. Ensuite, nous examinerons à tour de rôle leurs rapports mutuels, selon la méthode stemmatique. Enfin, nous montrerons l’importance du recours aux manuscrits du commentaire. |
