Celle-ci apporte de nouveaux éléments concernant les cultes locaux et notamment celui, inconnu jusqu’alors, de l’agathodaimon Atoum-ḫns-j3.wt. Les graphies de l’anthroponyme P3/T3-dj-ḫns-j3.wt montrent qu’il s’est formé sur le nom de ce serpent sacré méconnu, avant de subir une réinterprétation phonétique sous la forme P3/T3-di-Ḫnsw-jj, apparemment mieux connue. This short communication aims at reexamining the origin and reading of an anthroponym specific of the region of Akhmîm in light of the inscriptions of a newly found chapel of Atum in this city. This discovery uncovered new elements concerning the local cults and more specifically the yet unknown cult of the agathodaimon Atum-ḫns-j3.wt. The different writings of the anthroponym P3/T3-dj-ḫns-j3.wt show that it was first built on the name of the sacred snake before it was reinterpreted phonetically into the seemingly better known, though meaningless, P3/T3-di-Ḫnsw-jj. |
