Abstract :

Using a Girardian analysis, this paper aims to show 1) that Jn 10:1-12, 8 forms a unified and autonomous section; 2) that within this section, Jn 10:40-42 belongs to the second sub-section (Jn 10:40-12:8) and not to the first (Jn 10:1-39); and that the Similitudines pastoris et gregis (Jn 10:1-39) and the «Lazarus cycle» – Iesus trans Iordanem abit (Jn 11:1-54), De resurrectione Lazari (Jn 11:1-54), Iesus iterum abit (Jn 11:55-57), Iesus Bethanie ungitur (Jn 12:1-8) – are all «allegories» on the (attempt) to flee from a stifling Judaism by the partisans of emerging Christianity.
