Abstract :

In the first part of this two-voice article, André Birmelé presents three keys to understanding the current ecumenical situation: (1) a fundamental agreement on ecumenical orientation; (2) dialogues and declarations of communion; (3) new challenges. In the second part, Joseph Famerée offers a Catholic counterpoint: on the basis of a fundamental agreement with the diagnosis of his Lutheran colleague, and by approaching his three keys of analysis from a slightly different angle, he raises some catholic points of emphasis.
