Abstract :
This paper discusses Oshikwanyama (R21) locative enclitics (class 16), (class 17) and (class 18) on verbs, with a special attention to their less‑concrete and non‑locative uses. Post verbal locative clitics with a concrete locative meaning may have a co‑referential NP either preceding or following the verb, or they may be used independently, referring to a locative or a semantic locative beyond the sentence. The less‑concrete and non‑locative uses of the locative enclitics discussed in this paper include existential, partitive, completive- and substitutive uses.
