Abstract :

Reading the quotation of Is 53:7-8 in Ac 8:32-33, with Lc 24: 13-35 and Ac 10:1-48 as a background shows how the meeting of Philip with the eunuch is the central text of Lc-Ac. Ac 8:26-40 links together the two foundations that Luc has split between Lc 24:13-35 and Ac 10:1-48. First, that Jesus is fulfilling the Scriptures (Lc 24) and, second, that the prohibition for a Jew to be in contact with a foreigner is deleted (Ac 10).
