Abstract :
Physicians in Armenia used to read Greek medical handbooks, such as those of Galen's book of Simples and Dioscorides' de materia medica. Although the Greek names where widely known among the classical Armenian physicians, their real definition was not always clear. Hence a ist of Greek names with their Armenian equivalent was developed. This list grew out to a medical handbook the Bark' Galianosi, the Galen dictionary.
