Abstract :
Nature plays an undeniable role in our physical, psychological and spiritual well-being. By inviting nature into the therapeutic frame as an emergent and vibrant partner, we may reconnect to that reciprocal relationship with nature that we have inhabited for most of our human evolution. Using mindfulness as a framework, Nature-based therapy fosters the birth of awareness and growth. As partners, nature and mindfulness have the potential to open our senses to a world of acceptance, empathy, compassion and undeniable interconnectedness. The goal of this exploration is to further investigate the implications of nature-based therapies in the context of psychological healing. Thus, this paper will assess and answer the questions of why and how to invite nature into the traditional therapeutic frame.
