Dans cet article, l’auteur explicite et approfondit l’hypothèse que ce catholicisme, par sa mémoire longue et son expérience de cohabitation avec la modernité critique, reste irremplaçable dans la polyphonie des Églises particulières si l’on veut penser et affronter la crise de crédibilité qui les secoue et en tirer profit en vue d’une réinterprétation de la foi dans la ligne du concile Vatican II. Trois conditions sont abordées pour penser sa recomposition: le problème de la créativité interne à la tradition chrétienne, la place de la synodalité dans sa réforme permanente et le rapport entre la dispersion des communautés chrétiennes en genèse et une figuration davantage plurielle et pentecostale de l’Église universelle. It is one thing to note the «crisis» of European Catholicism, but it is another to understand its meaning and to activate the forces of resistance. In this article, the author explains and develops the hypothesis that this Catholicism, because of its long memory and experience of cohabitation with critical modernity, remains irreplaceable in the polyphony of particular churches if one wishes to think out and face the crisis of credibility which is shaking them and be able to benefit by it in order to reinterpret faith on the lines of Vatican II. Three conditions are tackled in order to think out its new composition: the problem of creativity within Christian tradition, the place of synodality in its on-going reform and the relationship between the dispersal of Christian communities in the making and a more plural and pentecostal representation of the universal Church. |
