Subtitle: An Experience of the Domestic Church Movement in Poland
Author(s): DAŃCZAK, Andrzej
Journal: Marriage, Families & Spirituality
Volume: 17 Issue: 1 Date: 2011
The aim of the paper is to show the importance of dialogue in the life of the married couple. Dialogue being a fundamental dimension of many human activities is also an essential element of life in the family. It helps, first of all, to improve the core of the common life which is reciprocal relationship. It is a constant task of every married couple to develop and to deepen the bond of unity to which they were called. Many aspects of everyday life depend upon the ability to conduct a sincere and efficient dialogue. A lack of (sometimes basic) communication is one of the major reasons for the high level of divorces in the developed countries. The life of a couple is sometimes a phenomenon limited to a simple living together rather than a real sharing the common life in its totality. The pastoral experience of the Domestic Church Movement in Poland, which the article focuses on, is based among other things on the presence and permanent development of the skill of the dialogue within the couple. This dialogue, being the pillar of the inner integrity of the couple, has a real influence on the life of the whole family. It also positively affects the presence of the movement in the pastoral activity of the parish community as well as, in single cases, the local Church (e.g. family counselling).
