Face à une divergence de la Septante et du Targum par rapport au texte massorétique, des indices sont d’abord rassemblés pour la situer, par exemple, au niveau du traducteur ou déjà de sa copie hébraïque, à moins qu’il n’ait conservé le texte primitif, et qu’il s’agisse d’une variante dans le texte massorétique. La recherche porte ensuite sur le motif et la méthode de la modification, s’il s’agissait d’une modification volontaire. Dans plusieurs cas, cela permet de replacer la Septante dans le cadre d’interprétations de l’exégèse juive ancienne, puisque plusieurs procédés herméneutiques employés par les traducteurs grecs peuvent être retracés tant dans le texte massorétique lui-même que dans les traductions araméennes et les littératures intertestamentaire et rabbinique. This article very briefly presents some of the author’s research on ancient translators. Faced with the divergences of the Septuagint and the Targum from the Massoretic text, indications have been gathered in order to situate the modification either at the level of the translator or already at the level of the Hebrew exemplar, unless the Greek has preserved the original text and the divergence is a variant in the Massoretic text. The study then examines the motives for and the method of the modification, in the case of a voluntary modification. In several cases, this allows one to replace the Septuagint within the framework of the interpretations of ancient Jewish exegesis since several of the hermeneutic methods used by the Greek translators can be traced back both to the Massoretic text itself and the Aramaic trans lations as well as intertestamental and rabbinic literature. |
