The multitude of women’s religious lifestyles has led the researchers primarily to the archives of convents. Particular attention has been paid to hagiographical and mystical literature and to the institutional problems of convent life, within which women were able to carve out space to express themselves and to protest. This article presents the most important publications from this period, considering all historical eras (the early church, the middle ages, the modern period and contemporary history) from the point of view of what has remained and what has changed in the religious lives of women. Depuis 1980, la recherche historique en Italie a profondément modifié l’étude de la vie religieuse des femmes. La diversité des formes de vie religieuse des femmes a conduit la recherche notamment dans les archives des monastères, où elles s’intéressa surtout à l’analyse de l’hagiographie et de la littérature mystique, ainsi qu’aux problèmes institutionnels de la vie monacale, pour les femmes, un espace et un bastion de liberté et de résistance. L’article présente les principales publications traitant des débuts du christianisme, du Moyen Âge, des temps modernes et de notre époque sous l’optique de ce qui subsiste et ce qui change dans l’expérience religieuse des femmes. |
